Biography Zelday
Born in the Netherlands in 1981, Zelday Karssen, a father of two, is a ceremonial guide, sound healer, multi-instrumentalist, and didgeridoo specialist. Since 2001, he has been studying and living the path of sound healing and didgeridoo, deeply dedicating his life to this ancient instrument and healing practice, which became his full-time profession in 2009. Over the years, he has studied styles ranging from traditional Yidaki to modern didgeridoo techniques and is a respected teacher in raising awareness about the connection between body, sound, and spirit.
Parallel to his path in sound healing, an innovative and experimental journey with his didgeridoos taught him the versatility of this instrument across various musical genres. Between 2009 and 2016, he performed at a wide range of festivals, concerts, and projects throughout the Netherlands and Europe.
Zelday has inspired thousands of people with his spiritual devotion to music, instruments, and life itself. Throughout his life, he has experienced multiple dimensions of existence and traveled across the globe to connect with the planet’s divine natural beauty. During these journeys, he encountered various cultures and tribes in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Central and South America.
His profound awareness of humanity’s cosmological journey makes him a highly sensitive and grounded individual. Living life from the heart also came with significant challenges, as he faced the polarizing effects of shadow work from an early age. These challenges were largely the result of the disconnection between his organic senses and modern Western society.Through years of deep transformation, Zelday analyzed the many dimensions of existence, ultimately reconnecting with the most fundamental principle of the self: the essence of simply being alive.
“Being highly sensitive is often interpreted more as a disorder in today’s world than it is truly valued as a unique personal gift. Those fortunate enough to feel on deeper levels often face immense challenges, as a lack of social and cultural attention or education can turn this gift into one of life’s greatest struggles. In truth, we all have the potential to experience the infinite field of senses. It is about rediscovering trust in your organic senses and understanding on a deeper level that all life experiences are generated from within. I have gone through some dark chapters, which ultimately helped me understand the light that we fundamentally are. We are dualistic beings, constantly seeking union. This union is not a permanent state of being, but the conscious practice of navigating duality teaches us what it means to experience pure union. This can be explored through yoga, tantra, plant teachers, sound, or any other mindful method that helps us connect with ourselves.”
Ethnobotanical and Shamanic Practitioner
Zelday’s refined and organic sense of sound and energy has led him to become a highly skilled sound healer. Over the years, he has devoted himself to the disciplined study of various ethnobotanical and psychoactive sacraments. During the winter months, he travels to the Amazon rainforest to deepen his knowledge through the traditional dietas, learning from shamanic and indigenous sources. It is through these teachings that he discovered his deeper life path.
Under the guidance of a select group of shamans and curanderos in South- America, Zelday has significantly developed his ability to work with some of the most powerful ethnobotanical and psychoactive sacraments known to humanity.
Zelday fully dedicates his life to working as a guide for planetary awakening, sound healer, and musician. Today, he shares his profound wisdom in the field of spiritual awakening and transformation through sessions, ceremonies, and retreats.
” Consciousness became my true ”Religion”, a religion based on Realizing rather than believing.
We all have the potential to awaken into our true Self.
Your authentic Self , your Spirit that is temporary and organically embodied by the elements of nature.
That delicate nature that created us all , makes us all indigenous to the Mother planet.”
